Want To Adopt A Golden Retriever?

A reader from Charleston wrote to Senior Dog Digest, hoping to adopt a senior golden retriever.
We here at SDD find that most admirable; senior dogs are dumped every day, due to divorce, death of the owners, discarded puppy mill breeding dogs “past their prime”, and, probably the cruelest of all, that their owners just wanted a younger dog.
Grateful Goldens Rescue serves the South Carolina Charleston Low Country and Grand Strand areas, as well as Coastal Georgia areas. They rehome goldens of all ages, from young pups to stately dogs in their teens.
Senior Dog Digest would love to see bonded mother and daughter Treasure and Diesel, pictured above, find a home together.
Treasure, 14 and Diesel, 12, are very sweet girls who are mother and daughter. They came into rescue due to a change in their family’s lifestyle. Since they are bonded, we would like to try and keep them together. We are working with them to see if they could be adopted separately. They have both been vetted, brought current on shots and are in pretty good shape for their age, although both need to put on some weight. Treasure is H/W negative, but Diesel is H/W positive. and will begin her treatment soon. Treasure and Diesel are being fostered in the Charleston area.
